Figured this out a while ago
But it is definitely the best way. Just so everyone knows, double clicking the red lines will select groups of them faster.
The only thing I didn't like waas your main character had the movements of a robot.
and style, it reminds me of catoblepas, more funny than weird though
damn Catoblepas, he's always copying me! :(
This isn't cel-shading at all
The technique is interesting, probably a big space and time waster but interesting. Cel-shading is a type of rendering of 3d models or animation too look hand drawn, you can usually distinguish it in some cartoons where there is going to be alot of movement of a complex entity (like a car or a plane) they will then render it so all the shades become solid and there are basically the two different flat shades. Go look at wikipedia for some examples, and make sure you know what your talking about before you write a tutorial.
I expected that if I got as far as a 4th review that they would say something along the lines of "I know you're probably tired of hearing that it isn't Cel-Shading, so let me review something else about the tutorial." Ah, well. You might have guessed I already know that by now.
I didn't get very far
even though I usually hate jokes and games centered around this kinda thing the idea was pretty original and I actually enjoyed playing it. You might want to fix up the preloader a little, I couldn't name anything specifically wrong with it other than the drawings looked kinda...not good. Other than that it was pretty good but if you have nothing better to do maybe draw the aliens heads a little better.
Glad you enjoyed it! I have to admit that i am not the strongest graphically, but enjoy doing both the art and programming sides of the project... so I tend to screw myself by being stubborn and not sequestering professional artsitic resources to help me out.
By the way... what was wrong with the aliens' heads?
when I saw 2.1kb I thought it was just gonna be crap but it turned out to be a pretty awesome recreate. How did you get the file size that small?
I use a flash wrapper which allows me to change my file from one location instead of having to upload a new to all the sites the game is on. This wrapper is 2.1kb large :)
I almost gave you a four because the beginning was so...well you know, not interesting but I kept through because it kept getting better and so yeah, and I was surprised this was 5.00/5.00 but then I saw it only had 1 vote, and now I have made 2 mwuahaha. Here is to a perfect score so far*cheers*
hehe yeah i know what you mean, Slow beggining but gets way better. Thnx dude I appreciate the vote and comment!!! I love comments :D Keep an eye out for future tracks
Such good texturing, I do 3D work myself and this is really impressive for something of unidentifiable wooden structure, how do you get such good realistic textures? Do you download them? Download then edit them (besides the uv map)? If you could share any technique that would be appreciated. Also what program? :)
Thanks, yeah I often start with some photo textures as a base and then build up the details on top. A lot of it is playing around with blend modes and blending options in photoshop to layer on the detail.
Its that guy
from samurai jack, he was all black and had a skull face with blue fire around his head
